Anna Juusela, We Encourage
Could you please tell us a bit about yourself?
My background is in retail, I’m a lecturer and a consultant for measuring the profitability of visual merchandising and overall profitability of the store online & offline. My education is in fashion design, specializing in trends and how those are born and how they influence, my second degree is in financial administration. My interest in trends and what’s up next led me towards AI. It is super fascinating how many opportunities and possibilities AI brings when utilized in a smart way.
Could you describe your role in the IMPROVE project? (Your role as a researcher/project member)
We Encourage is one of the leading partners in the consortium. WE is responsible for work package 2 to further develop our AinoAid™ – an AI-based service to provide psycho-social support and guidance for experiencers of domestic violence and guidance for frontline professionals for effective support and resolution. My role is the project coordinator to take care that all is running forward nicely and smoothly.
What are you the most excited about this project?
Working with such a professional and intelligent group of people is exciting. Having the opportunity to back up our AinoAid services with scientific research and knowledge from the partners is an excellent opportunity for WE to turn the research findings into tangible solutions for support and to dig deeper into the challenges and problems people affected by domestic violence are facing. Multinational and multi-professional collaboration ensures we have multiple angles when building our AI services and figuring out ways to resolve the challenges.
