Could you please tell us a bit about yourself?
I have studied Educational Sciences, and during my studies, I got interested and involved with the topic of domestic and sexual violence. After completing my master’s degree, I became a research assistant in the previous EU project IMPRODOVA and actively contributed to the development of the IMPRODOVA training platform. Working alongside dedicated professionals has been inspiring. Currently, I am engaged in both, the EU IMPROVE project and its sister project, VIPROM. In VIPROM, our focus is on the healthcare sector.
Could you describe your role in the IMPROVE project?
In the IMPROVE project, I am once again involved in the development of educational materials concerning domestic violence. This is a significant part of the project, especially within Work Package 3. Our main focus in IMPROVE is to change how people think about domestic violence by confronting them with their own stereotypes and biases. Also, we want to improve how the justice system deals with domestic violence by training. We believe that fostering empathy and understanding is key to breaking the cycle of domestic violence.
What do you think/hope happens after IMPROVE?
Looking ahead, my wish is for IMPROVE and its sister project, VIPROM, to imprint a lasting impact. Education is a powerful tool. Through IMPROVE and VIPROM, we aim to empower individuals with knowledge to tackle domestic violence. My hope is that both projects, along with their training platform, will contribute to an educational approach to addressing domestic violence. I wish for them to become an integral part of curricular teachings in a sustainable way, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of domestic violence.
