Finnish institute for health and welfare

The Finnish institute for health and welfare (THL) studies and monitors – and develops measures to promote – the well-being and health of the population in Finland. THL gathers and produces information based on research and statistics. THL also provides expertise and solutions, which its stakeholders can use to support their decision-making and other work. THL serves various national and international parties in several ways: the government, municipal and provincial decision-makers, actors in the social welfare and health sector, organisations, the research community and the public. THL is an independent, expert agency working under the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health of Finland.
