Organised by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) and the University of Vilnius.

The European Network on Gender and Violence (ENGV) is holding its annual conference in Vilnius, Lithuania from June 26th to 28th, 2024. 

This network’s conference welcomes international researchers, scholars, professionals and provides an interdisciplinary forum for friendly debates about current research on Gender Based Violence (GBV).

Call for Abstracts

Researchers are invited to submit abstracts of their most recent insights into gender-based violence. The main focus lies particularly in new empirical discoveries, innovative theories and methodologies. Three presentation formats are available:

  1. Inputs: Short presentations about the chosen topic (10-15 minutes) followed by discussions (15-20 minutes) in the context of relevant research, in particular in Europe to stimulate debate on key issues.

  2. Posters: Posters should be A2 or A1 sized which will be displayed throughout the conference.There will be a poster presentation at a dedicated poster reception with a prize for the best one. 

  3. Display Materials: Researchers can bring books, reports, or other materials for display and distribution.

Early Career Researchers’ Day

On Wednesday, June 26th 2024, early career researchers will have the opportunity to review their papers, research proposals or master's/doctoral theses at any stage of completion. Experienced researchers are also encouraged to contribute to the networking and discussion about conducting gender violence research as well as offer valuable guidance.


Submission Deadline

All contributions in the form of submission with a 200-word abstract should be sent to ENGV Vilnius by March 15th, 2024.
